George Burton House
George and Belle Burton House
Location: 1428 Main Street
Built: 1906
Style: Shingle Style
This house was built by George and Belle Burton in 1906. Mr. Burton was President of First National Bank of La Crosse (now, Wells Fargo). It was later owned by the Holmes family and then the Johns Family. This is a grand Shingle Style House in which President Taft slept when in La Crosse in 1908. Current owners are Dr. Martin and Ruby Smith.
